Most people I know seem to have more than one iPod: A nano for the gym, one 3rd generation iPod that was replaced by a new iPod Classic...pretty soon you have more iPods than family members. With multiple iPods come a tangle of wires for syncing and charging, but your Mac only has so many ports. What is an iPod collector to do?

theodp writes "Barack Obama supporters were left shaking their heads after a report surfaced that the president-elect was using a Zune at the gym instead of an iPod. So why would Mac-user Obama be Zune-ing out? Could be one of those special-edition preloaded Zunes that Microsoft bestowed on Democratic National Convention attendees, suggests TechFlash, nixing the idea that the soon-to-be Leader of the Free World would waste time loading Parallels or Boot Camp in OS X just to use a Zune."

Now let’s get one thing straight before I mention m-commerce. I do have a mobile phone, but I don’t take it to the gym with me and I can’t understand people who call me on it when they know I am working on my landline. That said, I might be persuaded to love my Palm (give me a break – I still like it) Treo just a bit more if it was a secure m-commerce machine.

Dorian Cox, the 27-year-old guitarist of the indie band The Long Blondes, thought his guitar playing days were over after he suffered a stroke. He now has a glimmer of hope thanks to some neurological physiotherapy which includes a cutting-edge piece of medical technology. The SaeboFlex helps patients by supporting their wrists and helping them grasp and release objects. "It's a fantastic service, it's helping tremendously and I think it can work wonders for me and others — it's almost like a gym for my hand. I know things might never be the same again and nobody can give me a definite answer about whether I'll play guitar again but I'm getting back on track with their help," Mr. Cox said. This thing looks really cool, and I'm sure many people will benefit from it, though I can't help but wonder if they make a model that lets you shoot
