We've previously covered dismal retail sales during the holiday season of 2008, and early data on e-commerce companies suggest they provided no real relief for either brick-and-mortar companies with online outlets or pure online businesses. A report released yesterday by comScore indicates that total online spending totaled $25.54 billion in 2008, down three percent from 2007's total of $26.33 billion.
