"The graphical familiarity goes a bit further than Windows 7's text-less taskbar and Kicker (sans virtual desktops, Microsoft seems to be unaware of the existance this feature), Gadgets and Superkaramba. The Window buttons remind me of a (quite polished) Kubuntu KWin theme. And due to the customizability of KDE, Windows may have gotten much farther with hiring their artist to simply do a theme for KDE3 ^^

If any process ever cried out for a graphical interface, it is using NDISwrapper to enable wireless devices to run on GNU/Linux using Windows drivers. The process is often torturous, especially for first-time users, who are unsure whether any problems are due to NDISwrapper's limitations or their own inexperience. By organizing and explaining the process, KNDISwrapper promises to remove much of the labor. But, so far, it only partly delivers on that promise by neglecting the hardest part of working with NDISwrapper -- finding the right Windows driver.

I’ve heard that Linux is for geeks. Is that true? Not at all. It might have been the case a decade ago, but today you’ll find many beginner-friendly Linux distributions. Where there's a will, there's a lawsuit. MacWorld reports that Cygnus Systems, a small networking company in Indiana, has filed suit against Google, Apple and Microsoft claiming that all three firms infringe on its recently awarded patent for graphical, thumbnail-type previews.
