WHAT'S NEXT: A new way to Google

Kids have another wholesome snack alternative now that D. F. Stauffer Biscuit Co.'s Googles have arrived on the scene. The newest product in York, Pa.-based Stauffer's All Natural line of crackers and cookies with no preservatives or artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners, Googles come in three varieties: Chocolate Sundae, Orange Creme, and Banana Split, all topped with frosting drizzles. Googles iPhone app has a hidden menu

In November, Google launched voice search capabilities for its native iPhone application. It took a fairly pointless app and made it cool, interesting and useful. But alongside that update Google added a hidden menu, which it revealed today on the Google Mobile Blog.

Googles Product Search Catches Up with Rivals

It’s very seldom that we encounter this kind of news when Google is actually playing catch up with rivals instead of leading ahead of them. Well, at least for now, Yahoo has got something to brag about its Yahoo Shopping Search since it has been leading the market for quite some time now. Paid Apps On Googles Android On TimeSlated For Early Q1 Launch

Google’s Android Market manager Eric Chu has informed Android Market developers via email that paid applications are coming to select countries in about two weeks, reports tgdaily.com. In the email, he wrote: “I would like to confirm that Android Market will support priced applications starting early Q1 2009, as we’d originally stated last fall.” He also announced a new feature, which allows developers to target applications for a specific country, which will be key since paid applications will be rolled out slowly as Google (NSDQ: GOOG) works out the payment solutions in each region. As reported previously, the terms of will remain the same with developers keeping 70 percent, and Google keeping the rest and dolling most if out to the carriers.

Loopt Finds Its Way On To Googles Android Market

imageLoopt, the Mountain View, Calif.-based location-based mobile social network, said its service, which became well-known after launching on the iPhone, is now launching on the Android Market on the T-Mobile G1. Although Loopt is just one application, the move could signal that the Android has reached a critical mass, or developers believe it will. Just last month, I asked the question whether developers had enough resources to build applications for the iPhone, and emerging OS’s, like Android. It seemed like a valid question since a lot of the well-known apps on the iPhone, like Loopt, Facebook, Pandora and others had not made the move to the G1.

Ranks of aspiring Google phone makers swell
