The New Encryption Generation: Closing the Gap

Concerned about the damage and liabilities of lost and stolen data, enterprises are turning to encryption as a backstop to prevent corporate and customer information from ending up in the wrong hands. Outdated, first-generation encryption technologies, however, often deliver less than promised-either leaving critical gaps in security, preventing the legitimate recovery of data or, even worse, encouraging operational compromises that can be exploited. Organizations today need a more intelligent, multilayered approach to encryption that automatically safeguards data without complicating essential IT and user operations. This white paper examines the limitations of first-generation encryption processes that often deliver less-than-promised performance, spur user resistance, conflict with operational infrastructure and process requirements, a

iPod Touch 2nd Generation Review

There’s one thing as right as summer rain: once a year, Apple revises its line of iPods. They gain new formats, colors and features that become the stuff of dreams of thousands of gadgets aficionados like us. Among the new faces presented by Apple in early September there is the new 2nd generation iPod Touch with its sleek design and touch-sensitive interface. Playing music is just one of its features – and one of the less important ones, actually – since it doubles as a PDA, being able to browse the web, check e-mails, play games and watch videos and photos. Let’s review all these capabilities and see what’s different from the first generation.

Milliamp Ltd helps replace broken first generation iPhone LCD screens

iPhone might be a great phone with an awesome interface and software. However, if you are not careful enough and let your iPhone slip from your pocket, it can crack easily. Milliamp LTD has thus launched a LCD replacement program that helps users with the iPhone first generation model, who might have broken their screens. Apple had launched the first generation iPhone with the screen joined to the digitizer and hence if the screen breaks, both have to be replaced. However, the newer models don’t need the digitizer to be replaced. However, Milliamp is not associated with Apple in any manner. The cost of the replacement of the screen is high when compared to the LCD screen replacement for an iPod.

Our review of the newest object of desire from Apple, the new 2nd generation iPod Touch.

iPod nano, fourth-generation (4G) 8GB

The fourth-generation iPod nano isn't the dramatic overhaul last year's nano was. If you've already got a 3G nano, the 4G model's new features may not be compelling enough to get you to upgrade--especially if you prefer the 3G model's more-pocket-friendly shape. And even with twice the storage at the same price, the new nano won't satisfy those who want to carry massive amounts of media with them or who watch lots of video.
