Electronic Arts announced Monday that it will publish a new title from id Software, one of the leading independent game developers. EA and id showed a short video of the game at an EA press event at the E3 games conference in Los Angeles. Dubbed "Rage," the game involves "action, exploration and driving," said id co-owner John Carmack. He did not say when the game would be released but said id would reveal more details at it's QuakeCon event in Dallas later this month. The deal is something of a coup for EA. Id, which invented the first-person shooter genre in 1991 with its "Wolfenstein 3D" game, has had a longstanding relationship with EA-rival Activision. Activision published id's most recent versions of its popular "Doom" and "Quake" franchises.

I've never been able to play golf, because of my eyesight - I just can't follow the flight of a golf ball as I hit it - which is why I loved to play Putt Putt as a child and spent many hours on the par 3 courses. But, I LOVE to play golf simulations and the likes, and Par 72 Golf II, by RESETgame, is no exception! I was actually surprised when I first downloaded and installed the game, as I didn't expect too much since the game is played on the small screen of my Palm Centro. Boy, was I surprised when I started the game for the first time! The graphics on this game are awesome! I'll go into more detail of the game graphics later.

Could the rumored upcoming "Lips" accessory + game to the Xbox 360 have the most advanced karaoke microphone for a game yet? Quite possibly. The game's made by iNiS, a team that's no stranger to music games, and features the accessory that pulses in time with your singing, plus detects how you swing it around when crooning in order to score extra points. It seems fantastic, but no amount of peripheral distractions will distract from how really awful your singing is. I mean seriously, vocal lessons aren't that expensive. [Gamekyo via Kotaku]
