Three years after the development of robots that act like rats, UC Davis engineers have designed a control system for robots allowing them to pick up on cues that the leader is about to turn, predict where it is going and follow it. This system mimics the human ability to capture signals — consciously or not — from drivers on the road or people walking in the streets to predict what they’re about to do. As said the team leader, ‘robots that are better at following could be easier for people to work with.’ With this system, an hospital robot could follow doctors during their rounds. The researchers don’t say anything about the availability of their system, but read more…

Whether driving on the highway or walking down the street, people pick up on deliberate signals and unconscious cues to predict what other people are going to do and act accordingly. But robots have trouble following one other. Researchers at the University of California, Davis, have come up with a control system that allows a robot to pick up on cues that the leader is about to turn, predict where it is going and follow it.

This follow-up has been written to vindicate Ms Paloma Mohammed, specifically!

When it comes to ecommerce sites, there are plenty of keywords to choose from. Because sites typically follow a fairly set format, numerous pages are created between the home page and the order confirmation page. Those pages all need keywords and phrases if they are going to rank high in the search engines. So, how exactly do you choose the best keywords for each page? Here's an easy strategy to follow. (Please keep in mind that all keyphrases used in this article are for example only and have not been researched.)

I was very impressed with the layout of Blogger, Beyond the Basics. It's written in such a way that anyone can follow along. It also has actual website examples in the book. They show you what a certain person's blog looked like before they updated it using design tips found in the book. Then you get to follow along as they redesign their blog. When they're finished you find out what they did and how it impacted their site. Sales and readership goes up when your blog is designed right.

The GPUGRID.net project from the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park uses CUDA-capable NVIDIA chips to create an infrastructure for biomolecular simulations. (Currently available for Linux64; other platforms to follow soon. To participate, follow the instructions on the web site.) I think this is great news, as GPUs have shown amazing potential for parallel computing."
