New York - An Italian 15th-century half-moon sculpture of the Archangel Michael crashed to the floor of New York's Metropolitan Museum, but officials said it can be repaired, media reports said Wednesday. The glazed blue-and-white terracotta relief sculpture by Andrea della Robbia (1435-1525) "came loose from metal mounts" and fell to a stone floor sometime early Tuesday morning, the museum said in a statement on its website.

A group of scientists has used deep ocean-floor drilling and experiments to show that volcanic rocks off the West Coast and elsewhere might be used to securely imprison huge amounts of globe-warming carbon dioxide captured from power plants or other sources. In particular, they say that natural chemical reactions under 78,000 square kilometers (30,000 square miles) of ocean floor off California, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia could lock in as much as 150 years of U.S. CO

Finding the Postal Museum located at a distant corner on the second floor of the GPO building is a befuddling walk for its visitors. The only hint to the existence of the museum is a modest sign at the large post office lobby near the entrance. And it can be easily missed amid scores of other signs scattered throughout the floor.

I really like the idea of match the design color scheme to the building interior. After all, this is a website about a building, and that's a great way to continue the brand. Daniel also carries the brand through in other ways - such as the favicon and the subtle marbling in the navigation bar. And it's an interesting idea to show the building with the floor numbers as an index to the businesses on each floor. However the usability was a bit flawed for me.

The area given to Small Press has not changed. With regard to Artists Alley this year we are able to accommodate 210 artists, up 43 artists from last year when we had 167 spaces. And I should point out that the 167 was up 20 people from the year previous where we accommodated 147. And I will state emphatically that no publisher, or any exhibitor, for that matter, has been asked to reduce their booth size to make way for Hollywood. Or any other exhibitor. Each year the floor changes in configuration. Some exhibitors hope to expand their space, some exhibitors reduce their space and still others elect not to return for any number of reasons. This is true this year as well. When additional space becomes available, we try to accommodate requests of long time exhibitors while still keeping the floor dynamic by welcoming new exhibitors.
