Wow! Is it our imagination or is eBay (EBAY) showing their sellers the door? Anyone checking their feedback in the last twenty-four hours was in for a quick reality check. While the new changes to feedback increased overall feedback totals, feedback overall percentages (for many) went straight into the toilet. If you were a seller, who was on the cusp of surpassing that magic number (in total feedbacks) to achieve a new star rating, you might have just went from red to purple but, got double-slapped when you noticed that your overall feedback percentage took a whack as well.

The next frontier for developers may well be the world of micro-embedded applications, or so a recent article from the Sun Inner Circle suggests. Micro-embedded devices include such things as medical appliances, MP3 players, smart cards, automobile braking systems and RFID tags, for example. With the arrival of the Squawk VM, the formerly difficult job of porting Java technology on this class of devices has been made considerably simpler and should open the door for developers interested in working on them.

ICANN has just made a decision that goes beyond allowing .xxx to be a top level domain; they're allowing all words to be top level domains. That means you're going to see domains like fuck.shit, shit.shit, shit.fuck, whatisthisshit.fuck, and so forth. What's not allowed is domains that conflict with trademarks (.pepsi was the example), too similar to current top level domains, or names associated with countries or governments (juicy.turkey). Companies will also register their products and services, leading to really annoying domains like pleaseplayyour.ps3pleaseplease, or dontyouwantanother.ipod. Nice one, ICANN. Nice one. [USA Today]
