Xilinx, Inc. (Nasdaq: XLNX) announced that its programmable solutions enabled the second straight win for Xi’an Jiao Tong University in the seventh international Robocon competition, hosted in Pune, India. Robocon is a prestigious event in which engineering students compete to design the best robot for a specific challenge. Initiated by the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union in 2002, the annual competition is designed to foster strategic thinking, leadership and team-building skills. The Xilinx sponsored team, from Xi’an Jiao Tung University, first won the right to represent China earlier this year at a national competition held in Beijing. The team advanced to the finals where they defeated 16 other teams from across the Middle East and Asia to win the Robocon 2008 competition.

Entelligence filed a formal complaint against Google South Africa with the Competition Commission of South Africa on Friday, 29 August 2008, for abuse of dominance in terms of Section S8(d)(i) of the Competition Act 89 of 1998, which prohibits a firm from “requiring or inducing a supplier or customer to not deal with a competitor”.
