iPod classic, second-generation (2G) 120GB

Apple has done very little to improve the iPod classic with this iteration--that's not necessarily a bad thing. It remains the iPod to own if you want to carry a lot of media with you. The Genius feature is a nice addition as is the ability to quickly browse albums and artists based on the currently playing track, but those additions will convince very few people to trade in their old reliable (and perhaps, higher-capacity) iPod classic for this year's model.

(Review) - Yesterday, we had the opportunity to review Apple's 3rd generation iPod Nano, and needless to say, we came away impressed with the latest carnation of the iPod family. Apple is too good at what it does, and it shows. Today, we have the iPod Classic in our lab, and unfortunately, we don't know what to write about. Yes, it's a rarity with us, considering how we love to publish our opinions, but there's nothing differentiating between the 3rd generation iPod Nano and iPod Classic. Other than the larger display, higher storage capacity and an overall increase in size, both devices are identical to one another. Of course, that's a good thing, for the most part.

The Nyko Wing, other than looking a bit more comfortable than the Wii's Classic Controller, brings a few other conveniences to Wii vintage gaming. First, it's wireless. So while it still requires an active Wiimote to communicate with the system (and it uses a Wiimote dongle to do so), you won't need to worry about wire tethering. The extra shoulder buttons may or may not come in handy (since Nintendo doesn't allow controller remapping in most Virtual Console titles), but very thoughtfully, you can load the Wing with AAA rechargeable batteries that can be refreshed via built-in USB. Well, they finally did it! Source code is available at Sourceforge. Both of these games have had the source available for a while, but under a restrictive license that hindered ports and modifications. Now, thanks to dedicated fans, that's no longer a problem."

eBay Reintroduces ''Classic Pulse'' Portal Page

Earlier this month eBay rolled out a new version of its eBay Pulse portal that shows popular products and searches. New modules display the most popular searches in each of eBay's main categories, as well as the biggest movers. But after receiving feedback that users wanted to view the data in subcategories as provided by the old version, eBay said it would update the Pulse page and re-launch the portal early next year. In the meantime, users can now access the new portal page and the former version.
