Sony Professional Solutions appoints channel development manager

Sony Ireland has appointed David Byrne to the position of channel development manager for video-conferencing and CCTV within its business division, Sony Professional Solutions. David joins Sony Ireland Ltd from Digicom where he held the position of corporate sales - audio-visual consultant. Australian media is reporting that the government there has built a classified facility designed to house top leaders in the event of a terrorist attack. "Protected by heavy gates, a high-security fence and an array of CCTV cameras, the Symonston facility is discreetly located at 24 Wormald Street next to the Canberra office of the Aristocrat gaming machine company," The Canberra Times reports. "The precise purpose of the new installation is classified."

"They are cousins of the market fundamentalists, who believe that in the beginning were private property and free markets, and ever since the state has been muscling in," he says, before adding: "Information fundamentalists think that in the beginning was 'me', fully formed, and that national insurance numbers, CCTV, passports and - the ultimate betrayal - identity cards are forms of assault."
