I really like the idea of match the design color scheme to the building interior. After all, this is a website about a building, and that's a great way to continue the brand. Daniel also carries the brand through in other ways - such as the favicon and the subtle marbling in the navigation bar. And it's an interesting idea to show the building with the floor numbers as an index to the businesses on each floor. However the usability was a bit flawed for me.

The Bloch Building, the architect Steven Holl’s expansion of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, in Kansas City, opens on June 9th. The building consists of five freestanding structures—or lenses, as Holl calls them—cascading down one side of the museum’s sloping lawn and linked underground by a series of galleries. In the April 30th issue, Paul Goldberger considers Holl’s design in the context of other contemporary museum buildings and extensions, from I. M. Pei’s 1978 East Building of the National Gallery, in Washington, D.C., to Frank Gehry’s Guggenheim, in Bilbao, Spain. Here is a portfolio of images, by David S. Allee, of Holl’s extension in relation to the original 1933 Nelson-Atkins building.

Online business shares many of the same fundamentals as an offline business. Both needs a strong presence. Like for any brick-and-mortar company, building online reputation is essential for the prosperity of your business. In principle, online reputation is not radically different from offline reputation, a fact you will appreciate. But building your reputation as eBay seller follows different lines.

Building faultless objects from faulty components may seem like alchemy. Yet scientists from the Weizmann Institute’s Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, and Biological Chemistry Departments have achieved just that, using a mathematical concept called recursion. 'We all use recursion, intuitively, to compose and comprehend sentences like ‘the dog that chases the cat that bit the mouse that ate the cheese that the man dropped is black,’' says Prof. Ehud Shapiro.

Michael J. Ross writes "Web developers are oftentimes under pressure to build attractive sites as quickly as possible, and thus they are increasingly making use of content management systems (CMSs), which offer most of the functionality typically needed in a site, such as user authentication, site-wide styling, and of course managing content contributed by site owners and users. Joomla is an extremely popular and heavily-used CMS, partly because it is one of the easiest to install, configure, and use as a starting point for a new site. But with all CMSs, Joomla's online documentation and forums can prove frustrating to the new developer. Books such as the recently published Building Websites with Joomla! 1.5 are intended to fill that gap." Keep reading for the rest of Michael's review.

Michael J. Ross writes "For creating Web sites, developers are increasingly making use of content management systems (CMSs), any of which can provide the framework for a new site. But just as there are many similarities among all the leading CMSs, there are some significant differences, such as how easy they are to install, administer, and build upon, for creating new sites. If developer loyalty is any measure of the present and future success of a CMS, then Drupal should be considered a standout among other CMSs. For instance, its online documentation alone is often cited as a distinguishing advantage. But most developers would prefer learning Drupal from a book, such as Building Powerful and Robust Websites With Drupal 6, by David Mercer." Keep reading below for the rest of Michael's review.
