Firebrand Training warns SMEs are making it easy for hackers - SMEs are endangering critical corporate information because they are failing to adequately secure their wireless networks. Failure to change preset simple ‘admin’ security settings, or choosing easy-to-crack passwords and allowing the network to be visible to potential attackers are the three most common mistakes made by small and medium businesses with their wireless setup. Firebrand Training is urging SMEs to take a more proactive approach to their wireless security – and they say it is by learning the tricks used by hackers that they will stay one step ahead of potential attacks. The Accelerated Learning pioneer has launched a White Paper “Wireless networks: are we just leaving the stable door wide open?”,outlining the key strategies employed by hackers against co

Dads are a tricky subject. Some are loving and inspiring whilst others absent and off hand. Some are communicative and open, whilst others are as hard to fathom as the depths of Loch Ness. Some are in touch with their creativity and at ease with their feminine side, whilst others are purely manly. Although the people I've got to know through Family Gamer talk about their dads in different ways, they all seem to agree that they make up a big part of what it is to be a family.

Color Model: When you hear the term color model we are referring to the method from which we define or classify the color we are to work with. Examples of such are RGB, LAB, CMYK, etc. Color Space: A color space is simply a variation of your color model. For instance, within your RGB framework some common variations are, sRGB, Adobe RGB, and so on. Some of these spaces are better for display e.g. sRGB and Wide Gamut RGB while other color spaces are more suited to printing e.g. ColorMatch RGB and Adobe RGB. Now, it is important to note that every device in our workflow utilizes it's own unique color space. Meaning, while your monitor, scanner, and printer will base their color spaces basically on what we can see their actual gamut (range of colors) will differ.

I just want to ask you one quick question. Are your blogs profitable? I told you it would be quick. It's real simple to answer. Either your blogs are earning for you, or their not. I will tell you something here and I will be blunt. If your blogs are earning you some type of income then you need to listen up. If your blogs are not earning you some sort of income then you DEFINETLY need to listen up. Pay attention close to what I say and maybe the next time someone asks you that question instead of saying yes or no you can say "HECK YES THEY ARE"! Now I again will be blunt. Some people consider this totally unethical and blackhat. I leave that for you to decide. A vast majority of the people that will tell you this is "blackhat", are not earning "peanuts" from their blogging efforts.

Software developers and programmers are bound by convention and capitalism. Some of the software that they design isnt free, so the patches and fixes that they provide are distributed in small executables that cant be read by likeminded technophiles. This is unfortunate for a number of reasons. Firstly, the fact that the clever authors of these programs hide their source code from the public means that independent developers are prevented from providing ad hoc patches of their own. An independent software designer (and there are many out there) may have a glaringly obvious solution to a problem that the proprietors of the software have spent weeks scratching their heads over.

The numbers of cycles of preimplantation genetic diagnosis or screening are rising steadily in Europe with over 2,700 reported in 2004 (the most recent year for which data are available). Fertility centres are able to screen for a growing number of genetically related conditions, but what should doctors do if no embryos without the targeted condition are available for transfer and the parents request that affected embryos should be transferred instead?

Turns out, people are sort of desperate for news about the 3G iPhone. So desperate, in fact, that they are willing to infer just about anything. Take the latest 3G iPhone reports. Apparently Apple has received 188 containers of something at a North American port. These particular containers are of interest because they are unlabeled...and Apple's containers are usually labeled.

Bad credit personal loans are getting progressively competitive because of the fact that we are living in turbulent times and individuals have gone into credit problems. While this industry is quite competitive and you will find safer deals than a few years ago, you will nonetheless pay a higher interest rate than someone with good credit because bad credit personal loans are still regarded as high risk to financial companies. Bad credit personal loans lenders will give careful attention to your repayment ability, collateral, your character. Many A times credit score is not the single criteria when realizing personal loans determination. Bad credit personal loans are entirely accessible these days. These are personal loans commercialized to individuals with a poor credit score or poor credit history.

Here are more than five good examples.

Developers are beginning to lose patience, and some are remarking that Google's unresponsiveness and lack of transparency are beginning to make other mobile platforms look more appealing.

An anonymous reader writes "The iPhone 3G and Android devices are coming this year, opening the mobile world for rich applications, while sites like Fire Eagle and byNotes are ready to move your blogging habits into the geospatial world. Are we going to watch the next boom when those devices and geospatially enabled sites get combined? Sure, the posibilities this would open are endless, but are users going to embrace these services?" I don't see how it can't change the world ... it has 'Micro' and 'Blog' in the name, and I'll always know where I was when I twittered to tell everyone I was in the john.

When we talk of engineers, what immediately come to mind are machines, bridges, buildings, and other structures. Engineers design and assemble structures for a specific purpose. There are now new engineers who also develop structures for a specific purpose, but this time the structures are molecules and other biological entities, and the purpose is biological. They are the protein engineers, the genetic engineers, and other biological engineers. Here are some examples of their work.

Writing "Surely there is a better way," eggy78 asks "With the ability to get information anywhere in the world in seconds, and the virtually immediate obsolescence of any printed work, why are journals such an important part of academic research? Many of these journals take two or more years to print an article after it has been submitted, and the information is very difficult (or expensive) to obtain. Does this hinder technological advancement? There are certainly other venues for peer review, so why journals? What do they offer our society? Are they just a way to evaluate the productivity of professors?"

Justifying an enterprise architecture (EA) tools investment continues to be a problem — particularly when compared with just using Microsoft Visio. So what are the alternatives for inexpensive EA tooling? We investigated five scenarios that can provide a lightweight- or limited-coverage EA tool solution, and we found that the cheapest open source solutions today are very limited and only the more expensive solutions deliver EA value. Free downloads — such as TIBCO Software's Business Studio, which has free business process (BP) analysis for a single user — provide some interesting partial solutions. So, are there cheap EA tool solutions? Yes; but architects must understand their limitations from the beginning because migrating to a different EA tool midcourse is often very painful.
