jerryasher writes "In recent weeks I've noticed that when I copy and paste text from Wired and other websites, the pasted text has had the URL of the original website appended to it. Cool, and utterly annoying, and how do I make that stop? Tynt Insight is a piece of Javascript that sends what you copy to Tynt's webservers and adds the backlinks. Tynt calls that a service for the site owner, many people call that a privacy invasion. Worse, there are some reports that it sends not just what you copy, but everything you select. And Tynt provides no opt outs. Not cookie-based, not IP-based, but stop-it-you-creeps-angry-phone-call-based. It ain't a pure useful service, and it ain't a pure privacy invasion. But I sure wish they'd go away or have had the decency never to start up in the first place.

So I recently purchased a new copy off FFVII as mine has not worked in some time. I just got through the Wall Market, that humorous stretch of gaming that has inspired so much homoerotic fanfiction. Up until this point, I have been having tons of fun. Then I got to the Train Graveyard. I still hate it, despite having beaten this game twice before.

Last week it was Ricky Gervais quitting Twitter. Now it's Jordan who's getting fed up with the microblogging site. Possibly. "She really is in two minds about staying on the site," a source close to the model, aka Katie Price, tells the Daily Mirror. Apparently she's tired of all the flak she gets. "The level of abuse on Twitter can be intolerable ... There are the mindless idiots who bombard her with crude, abusive comments – which are there for all the public to see. She tries to ignore it but it's hard not to be upset. She is considering all her options."

Comment IBM's vision for software ain't what it used to be. Biggie Blue's venerable software biz will doubtlessly roll right along into the new decade - make no mistake - but where's the drive and risk taking that made the company actually cool back 10 years ago?

Times are tough, sure. Nobody got a raise and ain't nobody complaining on account of well, they still have a job and would like to keep the thing. Belts tighten and we start cutting down on luxuries. On the up side, videogaming doesn't have to be one of them. There are great big sparkling piles of distractions out there. Worlds to conquer, castles to defend, and aliens to explode, and they all cost exactly zip. Maybe not all of them will perfectly suit your taste, but with 101 to pick from you're sure to find something that'll keep you busily avoiding anything resembling work. Actually, I think I just figured out what happened to the economy.

Apparently, Peter Jackson happily contributed to Modern Warfare 2's gigantic pile of cash, as a recent interview with Ain't It Cool News shows. He goes on at great length discussing his time with the game, most notably his campaign and Spec-Ops progress. More interesting, however, are his thoughts on gaming in general and his eagerness to undertake an original gaming project of his own at Wingnut Interactive.
