New Movies And TV Shows For Xbox 360 In March

The Gamerscoreblog site has posted up word on what new movies and TV shows will be available to download for Xbox 360 owners in March. According to the post, "monthly sales are up more than 70% since September, 2007 and doubling month over month" (specific numbers were not revealed). Among the highlights are the Robot Chicken: Star Wars special on March 4 (released two months before it appears on DVD), new episodes of South Park beginning the week of March 10 and a free episode of the upcoming series Lewis Black: Root of All Evil (between March 13- March 20). ABC Family debuts on March 10 on the service with episodes of Kyle XY and Greek. As far as movies, classic films like Unforgiven and Bull Durham and new movies like Into the Wild and Gone Baby Gone will debut in both SD and HD versions.

Tandy Leather Factory Inc. (TLF) reported that sales for the month of March were $4.4 million, down 17% from $5.3 million in the same month last year. Retail Leathercraft posted a 4% sales decrease for March, with sales totaling $2.1 million, compared to $2.2 million in March 2007. Wholesale Leathercraft posted sales of $2.2 million for March, down 25% from March 2007 sales of $2.9 million.

April 17, 2008 - Sales figures for the month of March are in from the NPD Group. Nintendo continues to dominate hardware sales, with North Americans picking up more than 721,000 Wii systems and 698,000 Nintendo DS units in the month of March. PlayStation Portable came in third with 297,000 units, followed by the Xbox 360 with 262,000 systems last month. The battle is getting closer for the PlayStation 3 as it came in oh-so-close to the Xbox 360 in March: 257,000 systems sold through to consumers. And bringing up the rear is the last generation of PlayStation, with PS2s still selling impressive numbers: 216,000 PS2 systems sold to consumers in March.

South Korea changes first astronaut candidate for ISS mission

SEOUL, March 10 (Itar-Tass) -- South Korea changed its first astronaut candidate for a mission on the ISS that is to be brought there by the Russian manned spaceship Soyuz, the South Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology told an urgent press conference on Monday. Russia asked South Korea to replace its primary astronaut candidate Ko San, 31, who repeatedly violated the training protocol. His backup candidate, Yi So-yeon, 29, a doctoral candidate for bio systems engineering, is now training for a ten-day ISS mission.

Dave Williams, record-setting Canadian astronaut, retires

The astronaut who set a Canadian record for space walks during his last mission is retiring to explore new frontiers, the Canadian Space Agency announced yesterday. With 18 million kilometres in space under his belt, Dr. Dafydd (Dave) Williams will be retiring from active astronaut status effective March 1, 2008. "Dr. Dave Williams has led a distinguished career in service to Canada and Canadians," Jim Prentice, the minister responsible for the Canadian Space Agency, said in a statement. Urdu Times (News):South Korea\'s first astronaut voiced hope on Wednesday that her mission would bring peace with the north of the divided peninsula and said she had a spicy Korean feast ready for the crew. \"I will try and make peace between North and South Korea,\" Yi So-Yeon, 29, said at a press conference in Star City, a Soviet astronaut training centre in a snow-covered pine forest near Moscow, ahead of her launch on April 8. \"If it\'s helpful, as the first Korean astronaut I will try and help the North and South Korean problem.... I hope the North Korean people will also be happy with our flight,\" she said. A biosystems engineering student, Yi is set to blast off for the International Space Station (ISS) aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, which Russia leases from the Kazakh state.
