Internet search company Google signed an agreement with Brazilian public prosecutors to help combat child pornography on its social networking site Orkut, an accord that the company believes is the first of its kind internationally. Under the agreement, Google will use filters to remove and prevent illegal content on Orkut, which has about half its users in Brazil.

Under the terms of the 5-year deal Google will also continue to use Tele Atlas mapping data on a host of Google services such as Google Maps and Google Earth.

Google launches free music download service in China

Google announced the launch of a free music-search service in China via its search engine, the Wall Street Journal reported. The service allows users to download licensed music files without charge and will be supported by advertising revenue split between Google, music companies and Chinese music website Top100.cn. Google did not specify which music labels have signed on. Internet users outside of China will not have access to the service. The move could help Google gain on Chinese rival search firm Baidu.com, which as of the second quarter held a 64.6% share in China's online search market compared to Google's 26.1%, according to data from technology consultancy Analysys International. A lawsuit was recently filed against Baidu for facilitating the download of unlicensed music via its search engine.

I have Webroot Antivirus with Anti-Spyware, and it is currently running a sweep. The problem is that it seems to be scanning porn-related files that I can’t find on my PC. I don’t LOOK at porn, and don’t know where they could have come from. They appear to be saved in a folder called C:\docs & settings\user\!\PORN NAMES. I can not find the “!� folder. What’s more, something is making my computer REALLY slow. The sweep has also detected a virus titled Troj/Agent-HEG. The sweep has found this virus in the past, and when I remove it, it comes back about two weeks later. Please help me to (a) get the porn off my computer (if it’s even there) and (b) remove the virus for good. I’m hoping these two actions will speed my PC up again! Thanks for all your help! Molly
