Early this morning Adobe launched a public beta of Photoshop Express, the newest member of the Photoshop "family." While Photoshop itself is the 800lb gorilla of professional image editing, the family also includes Photoshop Lightroom for pro photographer workflows and Photoshop Elements for hobbyists. This newest member is geared toward casual, "connected-generation" users. These casual users aren't going to drop $700 for Photoshop proper, and may hesitate to spend the $100 for Elements. Photoshop Express is definitely priced right to attract new customers: absolutely free.

PE allows you access to many of Photoshop's most often used tools - resize, tint, distort, sketch, and more. PE is entirely web-based, and after the free registration allows users to upload, store, edit, and share 2GB of their own pics. Users can access the software from any computer in the U.S., independent of operating system or browser.
