eBay is making it easier for sellers to specify which countries they will not ship to. Since last year, eBay sellers have been able to specify countries to which they don't ship by gong into their accounts in My eBay and updating Buyer Requirements. Prior to that, sellers who allowed shipping to the UK but not to Italy, for example, were unable to make that distinction since eBay settings were by region, not country-specific. (Italy's postal system is notoriously disliked by many online sellers.)

eBay launched the eBay Apps Center this week to allow all of its sellers to subscribe to third-party tools directly on the eBay platform. It had launched Selling Manager Applications (also called SM Apps or Project Echo) last August, but was only available to Selling Manager and Selling Manager Pro subscribers. With its new apps store, sellers can subscribe to any of almost 40 applications that help sellers with tasks such as product sourcing, accounting, research, email-management and shipping. All applications have a free trial - most charge a subscription fee, and there are free applications as well. The eBay Apps Center is found on this page, and developers can learn more on this page.

Close to half (45%) of sellers said eBay's decision to do away with Stores Inventory Format would have a negative impact on their business, and over one-third (34%) said their sell-through rate would decline as a result of the elimination of the Stores Inventory format.
