Newport Beach-based Mindspeed Technologies announced today that it has sold what it describes as "certain non-core patents" for $10M. Terms and buyers of the patents were not disclosed. Mindspeed said the patents came from a broad portfolio of patents which are no longer core to the firm's business focus. Details on the types of patents sold and number of patents was not released by the company. LOUIS, Mo.--(Business Wire)-- Electro-Chemical Technologies Ltd. (Pink Sheets: ELCHQ) announced today that the auction of nine of its United States patents in the field of "electrochemical activation of water" has been completed and approved by the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri (the auction process was previously announced on May 14, 2008). The successful bidders in the auction, John and Cheryl O'Shaughnessy, submitted a final bid of $4,830,000 for the purchase of the patent portfolio. The entire amount of the $4,830,000 purchase price will be paid in cash.
