A new way to search the web was unveiled on Sunday. The new service, called Cuil (sounds like "cool"), is the brainchild of four former Google search experts. What Cuil brings to the table is a new way to search based on each page's content instead of relying on links and traffic patterns. Cuil claims that its technology can index a greater portion of the Web far cheaper and faster than can Google. In fact, Cuil claims to have indexed 120 billion Web pages compared to the 40 billion currently indexed by Google.
