Singapore - With every new firmware updates for the iPhone coming out faster and faster, third party application programmers have to keep updating and patching their programs. Bugs and problems continue to plague the iPhone users with different firmware updates for unlocked iPhones and it sometimes give a bad impression to the high expectations of the iPhone. Worse is that users didn’t know that they do not have to put up with such iPhone bugs and problems. They are stuck with such iPhone bugs and problems because the iPhone sellers simply don’t care. Some users are stuck with damaged and spoilt iPhones, feeling they have bought an iPhone bargain but in the end, because they can’t use the phones, turn out to be a sour lemon instead.

iPhone users rejoice! Developers will soon have access to the iPhone SDK, the same tools Apple uses to develop new applications for the iPhone. Apple also introduced the iPhone Simulator, a kind of virtual iPhone that runs on a Mac to aid in developting new applications. The iPhone is also getting a face lift that should aid in its usability in the workplace. New features will include Microsoft Exchange support, "push-based" email, contact and calendar synchronization, additional support for VPN's, etc. These new features and the release of the iPhone SDK will undoubtedly make the iPhone a worthy competitor to the Blackberry in the workplace.

Apple has released a fourth beta of the iPhone SDK, including an updated iPhone firmware and development tools. The latest beta, build 9M2165, is available via the iPhone DevCenter on the ADC website. According to the release notes, there are two major changes in the latest SDK. The iPhone Simulator now includes support for OpenGL ES, so 3D graphics can be rendered in simulation without having to test them directly on iPhone or iPod touch hardware. Also, code signing is now enforced by the iPhone OS, so you must have a valid certificate installed before compiling. Unsigned code will still run in the iPhone Simulator, however.

In case you haven't been marking the days off on your calendar, the iPhone SDK has been out for a little less than two months, in which time Apple has released four versions. Non-US developers looking to work on iPhone applications have yet to be accepted to the official program, however, since the iPhone Developer Program wasn't accepting any developers outside the US yet. Someone at Apple seems to have flipped the switch, though, as developers from abroad have reportedly started being accepted into the iPhone Developer Program.

When I unpacked my iPhone on iPhone Day One. the first thing I said to myself was "this is one smooth little slab of technology." I then handed the new iPhone to my wife, who promptly let it slip right through her hands onto the tile floor, thus making my prophecy come true. Immediately, the iPhone was slid into its leather case cocoon, rarely emerging into the light of day.

Apple iPhone SDK RoadmapBrian Lam at Gizmodo asked Steve Jobs, at the iPhone SDK press event this week, a question about VoIP availability on the iPhone. Steve’s answer [live] (which may or may not surprise you): âWe will only stop VOIP over cell networks, but not WiFi.â Obviously, this is a protection mechanism to reinforce the company’s relationship with AT&T and any other future providers.
