Apple iPhone owners in France use the internet more often than owners of other smartphones, according to a recently published survey conducted at the end of last year by interactive marketing agency 1000mercis. A representative sample based on 112,000 respondents revealed that 55 percent of owners of all types of smartphones used their handset to browse the internet and download apps, compared to 90 percent for iPhone owners. Furthermore, over 65 percent of iPhone users said they connected every day to the mobile internet. The study also found although 64 percent of French iPhone owners were men, but that the proportion of women was growing rapidly. Some 40 percent of iPhone owners are aged 25-44, 19 percent are under 25 and 16 percent are over 60 years old.
