A technical glitch in an upcoming BlackBerry release will prevent an iPhone-Blackberry showdown in June, according to Fortune. AT&T will delay the launch of the BlackBerry 8900 from June to August after concerns about call quality, the magazine reported Thursday, citing unnamed sources. The 8900 will be Research in Motion's first 3G BlackBerry for AT&T, and it had been expected to make its debut right around the same time as Apple is expected to launch a 3G version of the iPhone. UPDATED 6:10pm PT - The device would be the first 3G BlackBerry for AT&T's network, not in general, as the BlackBerry Global Edition launch last year runs on Verizon's 3G EV-DO network. Thanks to mrtokyo below for pointing that out.

This document provides an overview of BlackBerry® Enterprise Server components and is intended to help administrators prepare for the design and delivery of disaster recovery procedures for the BlackBerry environment. Many organizations consider BlackBerry to be an integral part of the enterprise's IT infrastructure—therefore having a disaster recovery plan in place for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server is just as essential as having a plan for other critical corporate applications and servers.

Spring has arrived and the flowers are blooming, and apparently so are the BlackBerrys. Just last week, RIM released the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 for AT&T, and now T-Mobile is getting the RIM BlackBerry 8820. It isn't the freshest model on the market; in fact, AT&T has had this model for a few months. However, it does present T-Mobile customers with a better-equipped business smartphone than the current RIM BlackBerry 8830, since it brings the addition of Wi-Fi and support for the carrier's HotSpot@Home service. It also continues to offer Bluetooth, GPS, and of course, e-mail capabilities. Our minor gripes with the phone include a kludgey Web browser and design flaws, but overall, the BlackBerry 8820 will serve mobile professionals well. Read our full review to get all the juicy details.
