"We want to bring the Opera Mini experience to even more users and we hope that Apple will not deny their users a choice in Web browsing," a spokesperson for the company said in an email. In “First Steps,” a mother tells how she recorded her son’s first steps using the iPhone, then sent the video to family members and initiated a three-way call with them to discuss the footage. “On Hold” features a male narrator explaining how he doesn’t mind being on hold since he can use his iPhone in the meantime to check email, pay bills, and purchase and play games. Both of Apple’s new iPhone TV advertisements are available for viewing on Apple’s website.

Nokia Claims Apple Does "Legal Alchemy" To Mask IP Theft

CWmike writes "Nokia asked a federal judge last week to toss out Apple's antitrust claims, saying the iPhone maker indulged in 'legal alchemy' when it tried to divert attention from its infringement of Nokia's intellectual property. The filing was the latest salvo in a battle that began in October 2009 when handset maker Nokia sued Apple, saying the iPhone infringed on 10 of its patents, and that Apple was trying 'to get a free ride on the back of Nokia's innovation.' Apple countered in December with a lawsuit of its own that not only claimed Nokia infringed 13 of its patents, but that Nokia also violated antitrust law by legally attacking Apple after it declined to pay what it called 'exorbitant royalties' and refused to give Nokia access to iPhone patents.

iPhone and Competitive Products to Spur NAND Flash Undersupply in 2010

Thanks to its huge sales and high memory usage, Apple Inc.’s iPhone is expected to generate insatiable demand for NAND-type flash memory in 2010, helping to strain supplies for the year, according to iSuppli Corp. “An average of 35.2Gbytes of NAND will be used in each iPhone sold in 2010, iSuppli estimates,” said Michael Yang, senior analyst for memory and storage at iSuppli. “Furthermore, iPhone shipments are set to rise to 33 million in 2010, up 31.5 percent from 25.1 million in 2009. With the iPhone already the largest application for NAND, this huge growth is likely to lead to some periods of undersupply for the year.”

Flash Tutorial: How to Import MovieClips into a Flash Builder ActionScript Project

With the release of the new Flash Builder Beta 2from Adobe labs, more Actionscript developers will be tempted to leave the Flash IDE and head to what is now the rebranded Flex Builder. Previously there has been a bit of confusion over what Flex and Flex Builder were for, not everybody realised that you could write non-Flex applications (i.e. plain ActionScript ones) in Flex Builder. And then even without this confusion those of us used to the Flash IDE still had to get to grips with not having any sort of timeline or way to edit library assets. Long story short, you still need to use the Flash IDE to create and edit your library assets, though once this is done you can export them to a .SWC file in order to use them in Flash Builder. Here's a quick tutorial to show you how.
