("Mercator") is pleased to announce today that its wholly-owned affiliate has closed the previously announced agreement with an affiliate ("Silver Wheaton") of Silver Wheaton Corp. for the sale of the life-of-mine silver production from Mercator's Mineral Park copper/molybdenum mine in Arizona. Under the agreement, Silver Wheaton's affiliate has made an up-front payment of US$42 million in cash to Mercator's affiliate. Upon delivery of the silver, Silver Wheaton's affiliate will then also pay Mercator's affiliate in cash the lesser of the silver spot price or US$3.90 per ounce of silver (escalated by 1% per annum starting in the fourth year of silver production).

Researchers at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health have conducted the largest nationwide study on the acute health effects of coarse particle pollution. Coarse particles are airborne pollutants that fall between 2.5 and 10 microns in diameter. A mathematical model of image artifacts produced by dust particles on lenses has been derived. Machinevision systems often have to work with camera lenses that become dusty during use. Dust particles on the front surface of a lens produce image artifacts that can potentially affect the performance of a machine-vision algorithm. The present model satisfies a need for a means of synthesizing dust image artifacts for testing machine-vision algorithms for robustness (or the lack thereof) in the presence of dust on lenses.

A method of topographical mapping of a local solid surface within the range of motion of a robot arm is based on detection of contact between the surface and the end effector (the fixture or tool at the tip of the robot arm).
