The back and forth battle between the US and Antigua is long and involved. You can read the background if you want, but the short version is that the US suddenly claimed that Antigua-based online gambling sites were in violation of US anti-gambling laws. Antigua took offense at this, and noted that it appeared to violate free trade agreements between the two countries, most specifically because the US still allowed certainly types of domestic online gambling. The issue went to the WTO multiple times, and every time Antigua won -- and every time the US ignored the decision. At one point, the US pretended it won the ruling, and another time it announced that it was simply, unilaterally, changing its trade agreement with Antigua.

The company s year-to-date sales are down 4% to $22.6 million in the current year from $23.5 million last year. The company s Retail Leathercraft segment posted an 8% sales increase for May, with sales totaling $2.0 million compared to $1.9 million in May 2007. The 67 comparable stores posted a 3% same store sales gain for the month. Five stores that opened in or after May 2007 added sales for the month of $86,000. Year-to-date sales for Retail Leathercraft are $10.4 million this year, up 3% over last year's sales of $10.1 million. As of the end of May, same store sales were down 3% for the year.

US exports of titanium dioxide -- the naturally occurring oxide of titanium -- will grow by 21% to $1.5 billion this year, and could top $2 billion next year, as the commodity rebounds on strong sales of nanotechnology-based products, according to market reseach firm SBI. Cassini's first mission brought us a treasure trove of information about Saturn and its various moons. The new mission will target two of those moons in particular for further study: Titan and Enceladus. Quoting: "The spacecraft is extremely healthy and carries 12 instruments powered by three radioisotope thermoelectric generators. Data from Cassini's nominal and extended missions could lay the groundwork for possible future missions to Saturn, Titan or Enceladus. [The two moons] are primary targets in the two-year extended mission, dubbed the Cassini Equinox Mission.
