It's hard to fill the shoes of Phil Harrison. He worked with four PlayStation systems, was often the very-public face of Sony's gaming efforts, and had the immense job of keeping Sony Entertainment Worldwide Studios flowing in a cohesive, effective manner. It was announced in February that Harrison would be stepping down from his position as President of Sony Entertainment Worldwide Studios, his role being temporarily filled by Kazuo Hirai, the President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. The problem with the whole format war between HD DVD and Blu-ray is not choosing the winner—that's probably still a year or two away. The problem is that if you pick one format, you'll be missing out on great movies in the other format. Choose Blu-ray, and you miss out on the Matrix Trilogy and Transformers. Chose HD DVD, and no Pirates of the Caribbean for you.
