April 17, 2008 - Sales figures for the month of March are in from the NPD Group. Nintendo continues to dominate hardware sales, with North Americans picking up more than 721,000 Wii systems and 698,000 Nintendo DS units in the month of March. PlayStation Portable came in third with 297,000 units, followed by the Xbox 360 with 262,000 systems last month. The battle is getting closer for the PlayStation 3 as it came in oh-so-close to the Xbox 360 in March: 257,000 systems sold through to consumers.
