Adense-Easily Getting Your Website Listed on Google

These ways of getting listed on google.com (tm) the quick and easy way are the fruits of my labor since I started way back in 1993 on the Internet. I should have sold these secrets to you and make a couple of bucks. But I value what God had said to me that if I give I will receive.. good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. So those are the terms when you use this article God will pay me for it.

Xbox 360 Getting a 3D Interface?

Kotaku reports that the Xbox 360 might be getting a 3D face-lift as part of its Spring update. This update will bring a Minority Report-like interface with floating menus that can be interacted with, to the gaming console. This new interface is said to be an option along with the current Blade UI. Furthermore, as a rumour within a rumour, it was indicated that the new interface will be navigated via motion controls through a new Wii Remote-like game controller (rumoured) to be revealed at E3 later this month.

Sun VirtualBox (xVM): A Virtualization Environment for Linux, Part 1

A. Lizard shows how Sun VirtualBox virtual machines work on Linux hosts. In Part 1 of the two-part series, he offers a complete description of where to get the virtualization software, how to install it, how to tweak it so that its useful features such as USB support between guest and host, shared clipboard, and shared folders between guest and host without having to set up a SAMBA network will actually work for you. While this is primarily for Debian users, this should also be of use to other Linux distribution users, especially Ubuntu.

Getting Started with Silverlight

Despite all the wonderful things you can say about HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I think most people doing a lot of web-based development would agree that they form a pretty poor environment for developing modern sites and applications. If you care about your content working on most web browsers (or even just Internet Explorer and Firefox), accommodating their differences can be maddening. Many techniques and JavaScript libraries have been developed and shared over the years that can reduce this frustration, but none of them are silver bullets.

XML: How to get the benefits without the heartache

First up, a scope warning for this article. This is the first part of a two-part piece about XML. Here I focus on uses of XML in areas such as application configuration files, the exchange of structured, machine-oriented data, that sort of thing. In the second part, I discuss XML in document-centric applications such as content/document management and Web publication systems.

Are developers excited about Larrabee?

Some weeks ago AMD quietly introduced a new motherboard part without many people noticing. The 740G was not released to make some big waves as the previous 780G did, or the very new 790GX is doing. Instead the 740G is positioned as an extreme value part which brings quite a few nice features to the scene. The heart of the 740G is essentially the same as the previous 690G. The X700 based integrated part is SM 2.0 compliant, and it has the newer Avivo HD/UVD portion fused onto the design. All of this is then rolled up in one 55 nm package. The 690G broke new ground in terms of features and performance when it was released last year, but the design was shackled to the older SB600 southbridge which had its obvious I/O issues and relatively limited connectivity.

How NOT to Get Sued for File Sharing

If you are a P2P downloader in the USA or Canada, yes, you are at risk for getting sued by organizational authorities. The common plaintiffs are: the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), and the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA). The probability of you getting sued is like the probability of you getting tax audited... the more megabyte numbers involved, the more likely you will be identified and sued. You could face outrageous fines, legal fees, the terrible stress of going to court, and humiliation in the face of your colleagues. If you don't want to get sued for file sharing, please take 10 minutes to read this useful legal tutorial by the EFF...

iPhone 3G activation to involve two steps?

The activation process for iPhone 3Gs may actually be a two-step process, an Italian site claims to have learned. Anonymous sources suggest that the first part, the forced in-store activation, will involve getting each user signed up to their respective carrier, and their contracts started; the second, however, is believed to involve the App Store and iTunes, because of special billing information needed to download software. 3G owners will be able to buy and download programs through cellular broadband as well as local connections, though a size limit is being imposed on HSPA transfers.

Resveratrol found to improve health, but not longevity in aging mice on standard diet

Scientists have found that the compound resveratrol slows age-related deterioration and functional decline of mice on a standard diet, but does not increase longevity when started at middle age. This study, conducted and supported in part by the National Institute on Aging (NIA), part of the National Institutes of Health, is a follow-up to 2006 findings that resveratrol improves health and longevity of overweight, aged mice. The report confirms previous results suggesting the compound, found naturally in foods like grapes and nuts, may mimic, in mice, some of the effects of dietary or calorie restriction, the most effective and reproducible way found to date to alleviate age-associated disease in mammals.
