I just want to eat cold pizza, roll some dice, and drink some beer... so why does everyone want me mad about what some politician said? Apparently one of John McCain's bloggers brought up the issue of unpatriotic Dungeons and Dragons players, and now the community is putting down their Rush tapes and getting angry about the partisan use of their hobby. Dungeons and Dragons isn't Republican or Democrat, it's chaotic neutral! Here's what was said, from McCain's official site:

Dell gave up on MP3 players in 2006, after three years of fighting the iPod juggernaut. Initially, Dell's players relied on Musicmatch software for library organization, content syncing, and online music purchases, although they synced with the Windows Media Player as well in case of problems with Musicmatch (which CNET reviewer John Frederick Moore encountered back in 2005 with the flash-based Dell DJ Ditty). The reviews were middling at best, and the players never got much above 3 percent market share.

Toshiba to add Internet connectivity to DVD players? Toshiba’s HD DVD format may be dead and forgotten, but the Japanese company just isn’t ready to surrender against Blu-ray and start manufacturing players for the format. Not only are they working on DVD up-scaling technology that will supposedly deliver quality video comparable to that of Blu-ray, but apparently the company is also looking into adding other HD DVD-derived features to DVD players.

"Recently I read a review of an mp3 player where the author purposely chose not to discuss sound quality because, in the author’s words, 'The chosen player has a great deal to do with how you access your music, but very little to do with how it sounds…' That got me thinking. Do all mp3 players sound alike? They are all digital, so it’s the same 1’s and 0’s playing the music, so how can there be a difference in sound quality? I have tested some mp3 players myself and have noticed drastic differences. I have trouble believing that mp3 players don’t influence sound quality that much. They have different components, circuitry, software and build tolerances, so how can there not be a difference?"

Study reveals TVs as popular as MP3 players for music Parks Associates has released the results of a new survey in the US and Canada that reveals some interesting facts about how people listen to music. Not surprisingly the results indicate around two thirds of all people in both countries with broadband connections regularly play music on their PC and half that many use portable media players, such as Apple's iPod. More surprising was the revelation that as many people seem to use their TV for music as own MP3 players.

NEW DELHI (Agencies): India will not alter the schedule of England’s cricket tour later this year despite protests from the visitors about being made to play in smaller venues, an official said on Tuesday. The England and Wales Cricket Board announced on Monday it was upset that India’s regular Test venues like Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and Mohali were not given matches during the six-week tour. India want the two Tests in December to be played in Ahmedabad and Mumbai, while the seven preceding one-dayers were spread across various centres like Rajkot, Guwahati, Cuttack and Jamshedpur. “We would like to remind the ECB that our venues are always decided on the basis of a rotation policy,” Indian cricket board secretary Niranjan Shah was quoted as saying on the cricketnirvana.

Saturday July 12 street rods, customs, street machines and special interest vehicles of all types gathered at the headquarters of Coker Tire in Chattanooga, Tennessee. One of the reasons for the get-together was to give the participants on the Coker Tire Tour a great send-off as they hit the highway with the Syracuse Nationals as their final destination. A more important reason for the gathering was to raise money for The Victory Junction Gang Camp for kids in Randleman, North Carolina. Started by Pattie and Kyle Petty to honor their son Adam, the Victory Junction Gang Camp is a year round facility for children with physical disabilities. The Camp operates solely on donations from corporations and private individuals.

SRI Lanka's legendary former captain Arjuna Ranatungatoday urged players to preserve Test cricket in the face of the challenge posed by the lucrative Twenty20 format. Ranatunga, who led his country to their only World Cup title in 1996, also said the players needed to focus more on Tests. "You need Twenty20 to get more money, but ultimately you have to realise that Test cricket is the major thing," said Ranatunga, who is also the chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket. "It's very important to preserve Test cricket. When it comes to Twenty20, it's more like a business as far as I am concerned." His comments came a few days after his country's cricketers asked for next year's hastily-arranged Test tour of England to be rescheduled as the dates clashed with the Indian Premier League (IPL).
