England should play the role of underdogs more often. Beforehand, South Africa were happy to talk up their ambitions to win their first series in England since readmission, and their opponents did not seem in any rush to demur. Reports on the power consumption of the Sun Fire X4450 Server running VMmark from two sources show that the server's eco-efficiency comes in at an impressive level. AnandTech reports the Sun Fire X4450 delivers one of the best scores among all 16-core results -- 12.23 @ 8 tiles and an average power consumption of only 830W, measured during the steady state of the benchmark. That means the Sun Fire X4450 is at least 60% more power efficient than, for example, the Dell PowerEdge R900 and HP ProLiant DL 580 G5 systems, and at less than half the footprint of those two units.
