According to Google, Bell Canada is breaking the law by engaging in such throttling, which Bell says was necessary because of congestion (something they've been unable to prove). In a submission made to Canadian regulators the CRTC, Google had this to say:

Using Apple iPhone as input device for multi-touch Mac OS X development (with video)

"MultiTouch.framework is a native Cocoa multi-touch framework for Mac OS X. It uses the default event handling system and the responder chain of the operating system, providing a familiar application programming interface to Mac OS X developers. It is built upon a modular low-level architecture that unifies all touch events, with input units for different multi-touch input devices including FTIR, DI, iPhone/iPod touch, as well as any TUIO-based devices. Thus, as a developer, you do not need to care about the actual input device being used," The Media Computing Group explains.

Bell hits 199 as England pile-up 593/8 decl

England batsman Ian Bell(C) hits a shot back toward South Africa's Paul Harris(R) to be caught out during the 1st npower Test match at Lords cricket ground in London. Bell fell agonisingly short of a double century at Lord's but his Test-best 199 left England in a commanding position.

Bell and Pietersen dominate South Africa

An emotional Ian Bell joined Kevin Pietersen with a century at Lord's as England powered to a dominant 422 for 5 on the second day. While Bell has responded to the pressure on him, Paul Collingwood failed although was unlucky to given out for 7 when he didn't edge the ball.

The England batsman, Ian Bell, is determined to make the No. 3 position his own once and for all. Bell was elevated to the spot for England's consolation win over South Africa at The Oval, but it is a position he has yet to cement: in 13 matches, he has yet to make a hundred and averages a below-par 33.96.

The New York Times has a story up on the suddenly brisk market for touch screens and the devices which can make use of them, which it says "has grown quietly for years, both in commercial applications and in consumer devices." Besides the obvious (the iPhone, and Apple's use of multi-touch generally), the article also mentions the recent inclusion of Israeli company N-Trig's version of multi-touch technology in a Dell notebook computer, and some of the other places you can expect to see touchscreens instead of display-only ones in the near future — if the price drops quickly enough.
