Appeal decision ends Yorks hopes

Yorkshire's hopes of continuing in the Twenty20 Cup have been dashed despite winning their appeal against their expulsion from the tournament.

Before the Patents Act, 1970 was further amended by the Patents (Amendment) Act, 2002 and the Patents (Amendment) Act, 2005, a party may only oppose the grant of a patent by the Controller of Patents at the pre-grant stage; however, after the Controller has made a decision, a party may appeal against it in the High Court under section 116(2) of the 1970 Act. Yorkshire county cricket club have announced they will be appealing the decision of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to expel them from this season's Twenty20 Cup.
