VPN gateway supports eight simultaneous VPN tunnels: related news

Tata launches global VPN extended access service

Indian operator Tata Communications has launched a global VPN extended access service (EAS) in more than 150 countries. The VPN EAS extends VPN access to customer sites that do not require dedicated links and those located in hard-to-reach geographies. The EAS complements Tata Communications global VPN service to provide an integrated service that addresses the full range of customers' communications needs. The customers can integrate the remote locations into a single VPN without compromising on security or managing a multitude of different vendors. The global VPN extended access service uses features of multiprotocol label switching, IP security and virtual network operator connect access services to provide a managed IPSec access to the nearest IPSec gateway, thereby integrating the site with the customer's VPN for a secure service.

Fix an error 51 with the Cisco VPN Client

One of the most-used programs on my Mac is the Cisco VPN Client, which is what I use to connect to Macworld’s VPN when posting articles such as this one. (OS X’s built-in VPN client also works, but it also logs me out of and then back into iChat every time I connect or disconnect from the VPN. The Cisco VPN Client doesn’t have this annoying problem, so I use it instead.)

Version 1.x of Shimo fulfilled the need for an OS X-integrated VPN client that could connect to Cisco VPN servers. With version 2.x, Shimo delivers many value added features to ease VPN users' lives.

Problem connecting to virtual private network (VPN) through Linksys router

I have been working out of the house for years for a large corporation and have had no prior problems connecting to our virtual private network (VPN). However, my cable Internet provider recently forced me to close my residential account and open a separate business account to use a VPN. We have tried using two different modems: one with a static IP and the other with a dynamic IP. When I connect either of these directly to my laptop, I can get into the VPN, but when I go through a Linksys router, the VPN does not work. Any suggestions?

How can I resolve this remote worker's VPN connection problem?

I have been working out of the house for years for a large corporation. I have had no prior problems connecting to VPN. Recently Comcast disabled the VPN connection through residential accounts and I had to close my cable Internet access and open a separate business account. Two different modems have been brought out, one with a static IP and the other dynamic. When I connect with either of these directly to my laptop, I can get into the VPN, but when I go through a router, (both my old one and a new one I just got), the VPN does not work. I have gone through my company IT, Comcast's IT and Linksys. No one can figure it out. Any suggestions?
