use email filtering hosted protection virus
When it comes to protecting an organization against email viruses, most companies take a two step approach. The first step involves running antivirus software directly on the email server. This software monitors inbound and outbound email and screens each message for viruses. The second part to a typical email antivirus strategy involves running antivirus software on each client machine. This software monitors the workstation's file system, but also integrates into Microsoft Outlook. The idea is that the client-level antivirus software will catch any viruses that have managed to slip past the antivirus software running on the mail server.

"I’ve tried a few of these blogging places but personally I found it limited me. I know some of these sites are great for beginner user and even some big marketers use it to get the word out. I prefer to use self hosted because it gives me more control without amy restrictions. I did start at blogger though because it was easily set up."

In the mid 1970's (about '74 or '75) a friend, Chuck Huffington, described to me a program purported to have been unleashed on the ARPAnet - a batch job whose sole purpose was to submit replicas of itself to other compatible systems (CDC Cyber's, perhaps) that it could identify on the net. The clever invention was named "Virus". According to Chuck, some SysAdmin somewhere had then written a similar program/job, the sole functions of were to replicate itself onto compatible systems, look around for instances of "Virus", evict them, and then evict itself. I was never sure at the time whether the story was true or a clever piece of science fiction, but the term "virus" was definitely in use in this context by 1975.

An anonymous reader writes "Now that the Swedish government (in its infinite wisdom) has passed a law allowing them to monitor email traffic, a question that I think a lot of people are asking (or at least should be asking) is: 'What can I do to improve my privacy?' The answer is not obvious. So, what are the best solutions for seamless email encryption, search privacy, etc? What are your experiences with PGP vs GPG vs ...? In this day and age, why is the use of this type of privacy technologies still so limited? Why isn't there a larger movement promoting the use of privacy tools? Also, what is in your opinion the largest privacy concern? Search tracking? Email transfer? I believe this is an interesting question not only for Swedes, but for everyone.
