VeriSign, the biggest operator of computers that direct Internet traffic, brought back founder Jim Bidzos as interim chief executive, chairman and president as the company works to refocus. Bidzos replaces former CEO William Roper, who unexpectedly resigned this week. Bidzos will help drive VeriSign's efforts to offload the less profitable businesses, the Mountain View company said Thursday in a statement. VeriSign announced plans in November to get out of businesses that don't fit with its Internet operations, such as services that cater to phone companies.
