Kismet connection

The day I became a story on page one of the Hindustan Times (Blogged in India, between covers in Pakistan), people looked at me, looked away, and then looked again. What kicks I got. Current friends demanded a treat, forgotten friends demanded to meet, neighbours congratulated and strangers called from Gorakhpur and Buffalo (my phone number is listed on my blog). But these moments of glory are fleeting. The day dies, the daily is dumped, and that day’s story becomes yesterday’s headline. Life chugs back to anonymity and I’m back in the darkness, groping to keep the machine running — five blogs, one day-job and five bosses in that day-job to take care of.

Online Business System Sc...

(Prudent Press Agency)--If you already own an internet home business there is a great possibility that you are so busy in the day to day running of your business that you fail to consider that there are other ways that you can profit from your money. There are some situations where you can make more money from investments than from your actual internet home business. This is possible because allot of normal expenses you incur in your every day business is not applicable when investing, like salaries, overhead expenses, and normal every day to day expenses. You are making your money work for you when investing rather that you working for money.

Boom Blox team looking for more employees

Destructoid writes: "According to gamesetwatch's Vox Populi column, Electronic Arts is looking for more employees to join the team that created Boom Blox. It is an interesting move considering how terrible the sales for Boom Blox were. Will the team be creating a new Boom Blox or will this be an entirely new project altogether? The job posting really does not specify either a new game or a sequel:

The mozilla.com site was unreachable from around the world, occasionally responding with the message, 'Http/1.1 Service Unavailable.'" Since they decided to run their day from 1pm to 1pm Eastern time, the download day is actually still going, so you can still get Firefox and be part of the record.

EA's Boom Blox Sells 450,000

Electronic Arts’ Boom Blox only sold 60,000 units during the May NPD reporting period, and the game at the time was turned into a bit of a whipping boy for Wii third-party struggles. Here we are just a couple months later, however, and EA has revealed in a conference call (following its Q1 fiscal results) that Boom Blox has actually reached 450,000 unit sales.

Wine Blogging From Paradise: Day One of the Aspen Food & Wine Classic

I just finished my first day at the Aspen Food and Wine Classic, and my second day back in my home town for the first time in 14 years. It's been quite an honor to be asked to speak at this year's classic, but so far it has been an incredible pleasure and a deeply nostalgic experience.

Firefox Download Day To Start At 1 p.m. EST

boustrophedon writes "Starting at midnight in their local timezones, downloaders have been asking when Firefox 3 will be ready for Firefox Download Day, June 17, 2008. Mary announced on the Spread Firefox Forum that downloads will commence at 10 AM PST." That means 1 p.m. East Coast time, and, in Justin Mason's view, some pretty annoying times of day for many parts of the world. Reader CorinneI supplies a link to PC Magazine's (very positive) overview of the new version's features, which praises the "speedy performance, thrifty memory usage, and, in particular, the address bar that now predicts where you want to go when you start typing (what Mozilla insiders refer to as the Awesome Bar)." FF3, even in Beta and RC form, and even with the extension incompatibilities I've run into, has quickly replaced FF2 as my preferred browser — for me
