Initial US PGP, CGP November CP nominations down 20-30 cents/lb

Initial US PGP and CGP contract nominations for November were reportedly down 20-30 cents/lb, sources said Friday. One major producer reported one seller nominating down 20 cents/lb and one buyer nominating down 30 cents/lb. Poor demand throughout the whole supply chain was said to be the main reason for the steep decreases. Historically, the market has never seen anything like this, according to one market source. "Manufacturing is down, the Christmas season is expected to be slow," said one source. If the November propylene contracts settled down 30 cents/lb, the new PGP contract price would be 30 cents/lb and the new CGP contract price would be 28.5 cents/lb. Meanwhile, the aggressive price decline was reflective of bearish spot prices, which had dropped over 10 cents/lb in the last week on the back of long supply and poor demand which
