Australian Energy watchdog "The Source" took a look at different electronic products around the house, and looked at how much energy they use per month, and what that works out to on a yearly basis. They looked at products like Apple's iMac, a wireless router, and even products like Microsoft's XBOX 360 and the PS3. Believe it or not, the piece of electronics that uses the most electricity is Sony's PS3. It uses a staggering 1738.39 kWh per year which works out to about $261 (Australian). Believe it or not, the PS3 when idling for the same amount of time uses 1655.20 kWh, so if you aren't going to use the thing, don't turn it on, as it is a "gas guzzler".
