(RTTNews) - Video game maker Electronic Arts Inc. (ERTS) said Monday morning that it has extended its tender offer to acquire all the outstanding common shares of rival Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (TTWO) until June 16, 2008. The extension of the tender offer by the company for the third time comes even as shares of Take-Two trade higher than the offer price and the number of Take-Two shares tendered to the offer has declined. In response to Electronic Arts' announcement, Take-Two said that the recommendation of its board of directors to stockholders not to tender their shares to the offer remains unchanged. Take-Two, the publisher of the "Grand Theft Auto" series, has been resisting the hostile $2 billion buyout.
