Because Sony's trophy system is only being implemented now, a bunch of games have already been released that don't make use of the feature.

The PS3 is More Than a Toy With Fedora

"By contrast, the PS3 has had support for running Linux since before it was released, and Sony has made support code and packages widely available. The "Cell addons" CD released around the system's launch included direct support for Fedora 5 and 6, but it also provided all the files needed for other distributions to develop PS3 ports. As a result, Fedora 7 simply works on the PS3 without the need for a separate CD, although you still need to use the Sony downloads to install the bootloader. The add-on software CD (see Resources) continues to get updates with new kernel versions."

Soul Calibur 4 - PS3

Star Wars cast aside, what you have here is a solid fighting game. Usually all a fighting game needs to be good is you, a friend, a couch, and some time to kill. Soul Calibur makes it so you don't even have to have your friend physically sitting in the same room as you. All you need is the couch and time to kill. Fans of the series will like this game quite a bit, and newcomers can even be brought in by it. Even new players can be taken in by this game, or perhaps a player who hasn't played any of the recent games of the series. All in all I'd say check this one out, the gameplay can be fun for hours on end, and online adds even more time to that.

IGN writes: "Ever since the release of the 2.40 PlayStation 3 firmware, PS3 gamers everywhere have been clamoring for titles beyond Super Stardust HD to earn Trophies in. One of these updated titles will be Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Naughty Dog's excellent island adventure game released late last year".

The Current Development Kernel is...Linux-next?

"Linux-next is a somewhat strange base on which to try to develop, though. It is built anew every day from over 100 subsystem trees, each of which can, itself, change from one day to the next. So linux-next is a moving target, just like the mainline is. But, unlike the mainline, linux-next has no consistent or coherent history. Every day's linux-next tree is a completely new creation with a unique - and transient - history."

Megatrends In Game Development

Gamasutra has a feature discussing some of the extremely common trends in current game design. Many publishers are looking at multi-player content and downloadable additions as necessities, rather than luxuries, for modern titles. Also on the rise is a focus on micro-payments; offering small-scale games, updates, and add-ons for a smaller fee than a full game. Similar to these is the subscription-based model, which Scott Jennings of NCSoft recently called "an arms race that few can even hope to compete in, much less win." From Gamasutra: "Games relying on micropayments are founded on a somewhat different logic. Like fast gaming, these games are conceived to be immediate hands-on experiences, but are also designed to entice the players to deepen their experience of the game by purchasing affordable additional components.
