mandatory blogs boost employee knowledge one way
I have a piece of advice for those who bemoan the lack of knowledge-sharing in their organizations: Make tacit knowledge explicit. Externalize expertise and experiences across all functions, from the office manager to the executive team.

Capture One 4 (CO4, if you will) is a raw file processor/organizer that shares many features, albeit with its own nomenclature and workflow, with products such as Apple’s Aperture and Adobe’s Lightroom. Competitively priced at $129 (for a two computer license), owners of Phase One’s Capture One LE can upgrade to 4 free of charge, and Capture One PRO users can use CO4 free until the next generation of PRO is available. Those curious can try out the program for free for 30 days by visiting the company’s website (www.phaseone.com/4). I have worked with raw images in most camera company proprietary software

Can I make money with blogs? Look at my free money making blogger and learn how to do it yourself. Lots of people ask me how I promote GDI or Global Domains International. How do I get my online business leads. Please visit http://gdijoinnowforfree.blogspot.com/ to see one of the companies I promote on my blogs. First let me say that blogs must be informational. You cannot make a blatant sales pitch blog full of ads only or blogs entirely devoted your promoting your product or service.

CSS specificity is one of the aspects of CSS that can be very confusing at first, and hard to remember even after you understand it. The idea is that if you have two rules that target the same general element, you need a way to determine which one the browser implements. At its most basic, if you set the font color on paragraph tags twice in one CSS document, the last one to be read will be applied. But what if you have a paragraph that has both an id and a class set, and there are styles for each of those? Specificity says that the ID style will take precedence over a class - because it's more specific (there can only be one element with an ID on a page, but there can be many elements with the same class).

AndrewStephens writes "Good news for C++ programmers: Boost 1.36 has been released with 4 new libraries (including very useful exception templates) and a host of updates. In particular, boost.asio (the cross platform AsyncIO library) has seen major additions and now supports asynchronous disk operations on Windows. Almost every modern C++ codebase uses Boost somewhere, and many of its features find their way into the official language specifications."

A theoretical model of a galaxy like the Milky Way, showing trails of stars torn from disrupted satellite galaxies that have merged with the central galaxy. The structures seen in the SDSS-II star maps support this prediction of a complicated outer Milky Way. The region shown is about one million light years on a side; the sun is just 25,000 light years from the center of the Milky Way and would appear close to the center of this picture. Credit: K. While watching the Olympics, seated in front of the television with my laptop, I ended up with a pretty extensive set of bookmarked links to blogs from lots of great photographers covering the games. The closing ceremonies are a day away now, but I figure the blogs should be up for a while, and will still make for informative and entertaining reading. So here they are, all in one place. Click on the photographer's names, and please let me know if I've missed any (just blogs, not "Picture of the Day" sites or those that require registration).

Over the last couple of years, we've had a series of interesting stories about how the Malaysian gov't is dealing with "blogs." First, a gov't official slammed blogs and tried to pass a law requiring bloggers to register with the government. Outrage over such a plan resulted in it being scrapped, but the majority ruling party still struggled with blogs -- though tried to figure out ways to respond to them more feasibly than attacking them. It set up a gov't agency to respond to bloggers, and later required certain candidates for offices to set up their own blogs. Of course, it also tried to crack down on some bloggers it didn't like, including having a state owned paper file a libel suit over a blog.

I just want to ask you one quick question. Are your blogs profitable? I told you it would be quick. It's real simple to answer. Either your blogs are earning for you, or their not. I will tell you something here and I will be blunt. If your blogs are earning you some type of income then you need to listen up. If your blogs are not earning you some sort of income then you DEFINETLY need to listen up. Pay attention close to what I say and maybe the next time someone asks you that question instead of saying yes or no you can say "HECK YES THEY ARE"! Now I again will be blunt. Some people consider this totally unethical and blackhat. I leave that for you to decide. A vast majority of the people that will tell you this is "blackhat", are not earning "peanuts" from their blogging efforts.

Journalist Louise Story wrote an insightful article recently in the New York Times about the growth in the number of bloggers who accept advertising on their blogs. If you do much surfing of blogs you may have noticed the increasing prevalence of advertising in blogs. Certainly among the business blogs out there, most that I visit at least have some Google AdSense ads on their blogs.

iTunes can easily share its content over your local network. But if you want a complete copy of your media library on more than one Mac, you’ll need to synchronize some files. However, merely copying, say, a folder full of AAC files from one Mac to another is not enough; you must also copy the iTunes Library files containing metadata, playlists, and other important information. And therein lies the rub: If you’ve changed the contents of iTunes on both Macs, merely copying the iTunes Library files in one direction or the other (manually or with a file-synchronization utility) won’t synchronize their contents, so neither iTunes library will be correct. For example, songs present on both Macs’ hard disks may not actually show up in iTunes on one Mac or the other, and one Mac’s playlists might entirely overwrite the other’s.
