how wordpress banish blah blog blues
Most beginner "blahgs," it seems, are generated using free services whose customization options are meager at best. But you can break the monotony and supercharge your Weblog by installing your own blogging software and customizing it as you like. You'll control how your site looks and functions -- and when you're finished, you'll have a distinctive-looking blog that you can easily update to keep it fresh and functional.

When I recently decided to start a blog, I had to choose a blogging platform. For two reasons, I chose WordPress. First, I could start my blog in minutes through its free hosting service, paying only if I needed extras such as additional storage space. Second, I was attracted to WordPress's open-source software. If I ever wanted to have greater control over how my blog looked and functioned, it would be easy to set up a site at a domain name of my choosing and continue using the software. I'm not the only one attracted to this no-risk proposition. More than 3.5 million blogs--with hundreds of thousands of posts daily--are hosted on Wordpress.com, which is run by the Web startup Automattic.

I have enjoyed the WordPress format immensely and this new version of the "Livin' La Vida Low-Carb" blog will implement the WordPress tools on my own server. This move cost me a pretty penny, but it was worth every dime I am spending on it to make it happen. You'll notice the new blog has some ads from sponsors on it which is something WordPress did not allow me to do on their format. I appreciate your continued support of those who support the work I am doing.

Believe it or not, but it's actually possible to make money from blogging. One teenager has, in fact, earned $5,000 a month just from making posts on his blog! Of course, not every blogger is this lucky. It does take some skill, and some luck to make money from blogging. What it also takes is some knowledge of how exactly to generate income just by posting blogs. We will go over three specific methods of making money on your blog: Adsense, Pay Per Lead, and Affiliate Links. So how exactly do I make money on my blog? You do it by working with another company that wants to use your blog as a form of advertising. It sounds like selling out, right? Not exactly. The advertising can be as in your face or subtle as you want. And it can still make you money, provided you have enough visitors to your blog.

Ragnar Tornquist is respected as one of the best storytellers in today's game industry. He's done work on Anarchy: Online, Dreamfall, and upcoming MMO The Secret World. Rock, Paper, Shotgun has a lengthy three-part interview with Tornquist about how good stories are crafted, how they interact with other aspects of the games, and what his preferences are for building a compelling character. "We had all these characters who were on a journey of faith, and we said how can we ensure that this theme is carried through, and have a clear view of how their journeys happen.
