(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 22, 2008 ) DALLAS, Texas - TwinTrader.com announces the publication of ‘Peak Oil May Sprout “Space Program-size” Funding’ Investors can view all of the investment articles and publications for free by visiting: http://www.TwinTrader.com Peak Oil May Sprout “Space Program-size” Funding ”The hope of oil retreating back to the $30 level has since been shattered as fantastic and naïve wishful thinking. Olympus / Panasonic announce Micro Four Thirds

Olympus and Panasonic have announced a new, mirrorless format / lens mount based on (and compatible with) Four Thirds. The Micro Four Thirds system uses the same sensor size (18 x 13.5 mm) but allows slimmer cameras by removing the mirror box and optical viewfinder. The new format has three key technical differences: (1) roughly half the flange back distance (distance from mount to the sensor), (2) a smaller diameter lens mount (6 mm smaller) and (3) two additional contact points for lens-to-body communication (now 11 points). Removing the mirror mechanism allows this shorter flange back distance, meaning lenses for the new mount can be considerably smaller than current Four Thirds designs. The format will require framing to be carried out using Live View on either the LCD monitor or an EVF.

Cracker company unveils cheesy sculpture in time for Fourth of July

A sculpture of the signing of the Declaration of Independencemadefromaone-tonneblock of cheddar cheese glistened on the sidewalk of Times Square in New York yesterday as an artist's tribute to the Fourth of July. "It's very patriotic, using the signing of the Declaration of Independence, bringing Americans together for the Fourth," said Troy Landwehr, who carved the sculpture, pictured, for cracker company Cheez-It to celebrate U. S. Independence Day. He worked for a week in a 4C cooler carving the block of Wisconsin cheddar. "The cheddar has been pasteurized and will not melt," the artist said. "What I spray on it is cooking oil and that stops it from drying out and cracking. That's why it looks sweaty. It actually preserves the cheese."

Alastair Sooke on the Fourth Plinth winners

When Mark Wallinger unveiled Ecce Homo, his life-size sculpture of Christ cast from the body of a former art student, on the empty Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square in 1999, Antony Gormley must have had a fit. Over the past three decades, Gormley has made his name by obsessively casting his own body and exhibiting the results. If Wallinger hadn’t got there first, Gormley’s proposal for a new sculpture in Trafalgar Square would surely have involved plonking a cast of himself on top of the Fourth Plinth.
