This generally is true because larger plans have access to a wider variety of investment options and economies of scale. As reported in a recent Insider newsletter, Watson Wyatt used 5500 form data to calculate the median rate of return for plan sponsors that sponsored both a defined benefit plan and a 401(k) plan, each with at least 100 participants.

Leonardo: Artist, inventor, matchmaker?

This photo provided by prof. Alessandro Vezzosi of the 'Museo Ideale Leonardo Da Vinci' Monday Aug. 4, 2008, is a reproduction of a 15th century portrait of a young woman. Experts say this artwork previously attributed to an anonymous German artist, is likely a drawing made by Renaissance master Leonardo da Vinci for a long-distance marriage proposal. The drawing, which could be worth millions if the new attribution is confirmed, was bought in 1998 for US$21,850 (€14,029) by a private collector at an auction in New York, said Alessandro Vezzosi, the director of a museum dedicated to the artist in his hometown of Vinci. 'Every element points to Leonardo,' said Vezzosi, one of the experts who examined the drawing.

Sprint's SERO Plans For Smartphones Remain Intact, Despite Rumors

Ahhh, rumors. Don't you just love them? They pull at your heart strings and crush your dreams, and Sprint is right in the middle of this one. In a surprising move, Sprint supposedly removed smartphones from their competitive SERO (Sprint Exclusive Referral Offer) plans (now refuted.) SERO plans uniquely include data usage in the plan fee and reflect a substantial savings from conventional plans. Either this was a case of bad timing of a system bug with their online SERO ordering or Sprint was actually kicking around the idea of limiting its SERO offerings, but regardless, both current and future SERO customers can breathe a sigh of relief. Sprint has issued the following clarification:
